Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is the manual treatment and manipulation of soft tissues, muscles, ligaments, joints, tendons and fascia. It is a philosophy that values the healing properties of touch. Specialised skills and hands-on manual techniques are used to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate and prevent the various injuries, conditions and pain that occur in the human body. As it is an evidence-based intervention it therefore works in tandem with, and compliments, other health care practices.
As Physical therapy is safe, non invasive and drug free, it is an effective treatment and rehabilitation modality for chronic pain and injury, making it suitable for both the young and elderly. All treatments are specifically tailored to each individual following a functional assessment and physical examination. Accordingly, personalized home care plans or Medical Exercise Programs may be prescribed in order to empower patients to return to full function and allow continuous recovery and rehabilitation in alleviating pain and discomfort.
