Acupuncture

Acupuncture a part of a comprehensive medical system that dates back thousands of years, having its origins in China, and forms part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This makes it one of the oldest and most long-standing health care systems in the world. Its benefits and effectiveness are now accepted and utilized globally.

The treatment consists of the insertion and penetration of the skin by thin fine, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points along the body. The points are then activated through manual manipulation of the needles.

Electro-acupuncture is a form of traditional acupuncture that consists of stimulating identified acupuncture points with small adjustable frequency impulses. The benefits of electro-acupuncture are that it gives a constant and safe stimulation of the acupuncture points.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has compiled a huge list of medical conditions that may be treated with Acupuncture. For further information go to World Health Organisation website.
